Travel Grants

Applications are also now being accepted for travel grants to support students and low-income graduates attend the WSSA conference and present at an AFIT section.

To apply, submit your abstract through the conference website at https://wssaconference.com/2025 (where additional details on how to do that are part of the call for the student scholars award) and then email a CV (that should include where you are studying/working, actual or expected date of degree, and any presentation or publication of institutionalist research, although no prior experience is required for funding) and a filled-out version of the travel grant application form to Thomas Lambert, thomas.lambert@louisville.edu with the subject “AFIT Travel Grants Application."

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning December 20th, 2025. The deadline for travel grant applications is January 20, 2025. Students who apply to the AFIT-AFEE Student Scholars Award Competition by its due date are strongly encouraged to apply for a competitive travel grant at the same time and will be given priority consideration. Submission to the AFIT-AFEE Student Scholars Award Competition is not required for travel-grant consideration, however.

Please note that in the case of co-authored papers, travel grant awards will be divided equally among the authors if more than one plans to attend.

Contact Thomas Lambert at thomas.lambert@louisville.edu with any inquiries related to the travel grants.
